Western Health has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join the division of Emergency, Medicine and Access in the role of:

Nurse Unit Manager – Transit Lounge

  • Footscray Hospital
  • 4 days per week, 10 hour shifts

 

The Nurse Unit Manager of the Footscray Hospital Transit Lounge will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Transit Lounge and will work in partnership with a strongly committed team to shape the provision, service development, and implementation of high quality and efficient care to patients.

The successful applicant will foster a culture of inclusiveness, trust, flexibility, accountability, and continuous quality improvement. The role will work collaboratively to ensure improvements and ideas support Best Care and Western Health strategic priorities.

The Transit Lounge at Footscray Hospital is open 7 days a week from 8am to 6:30pm. Its purpose is to provide a comfortable location for patients who are awaiting discharge, inter-hospital transfer or the availability of an inpatient bed for admission. This area will improve hospital access and patient flow around Western Health, whilst continuing to provide clinical care. 

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Successful completion of Post Graduate qualifications in Management and/or Health Care Leadership or working towards
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, with excellent clinical and organisational skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to the provision of Best Care for our patients
