About the Role

The implementation of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is Western Health’s next step towards significantly improving and transforming the way we provide care for our community and patients. Western Health’s EMR will provide clinicians with a consolidated view of all relevant information about the patient to facilitate teamwork reduce medical errors and    support clinical decision making.  It will also simplify and support clinician workflow, and provide access to best   practice knowledge, empowering our clinicians with the tools to enhance the delivery of Best Care.

Phase one of Western Health’s 7 - 10 year EMR journey will deliver:

  • structured clinical notes,
  • medications prescribing and administration,
  • pathology and radiology orders and results; and
  • A supporting core system.

Duties

The EMR Test Analyst is responsible for the development, preparation and maintenance of test cases. The test cases and scenarios need to align to the business requirements to enable the validation of the design and build of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system at Western Health; Clinical System Cerner Millennium. The Test Analyst needs to work within structured test environments using test management tools to record test execution and capture test evidence. The Test Analyst collaborates with EMR Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Business Analysts and key stakeholders to develop acceptance testing scenarios and test cases.

The Test Analyst performs hand on testing activities including system, integration, data migration, system regression testing and device testing. The role requires strong analytical skills to identify, log and troubleshoot defects.
