Position Summary

Western Health is currently seeking applications for the 2023 Combined Graduate Nurse/Midwife Plus Program at both the Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s and Bacchus Marsh campuses. Western Health has an excellent reputation for providing Graduate Nurse/Midwives with a smooth transition to practice from student to Registered Nurse/Midwife.

The Combined Graduate Nurse/Midwife Plus Program is a 2 year program:

  • Year One – early career supported program rotating across the continuum of pregnancy care and a Nursing Unit
  • Year Two – undertaking two theoretical postgraduate equivalent subjects and options for additional rotations 

This Program is offered at 64hrs per fortnight (0.84FTE).  Four intakes are offered in 2023- February, April, July and October.

This program will be supported by Clinical Midwifery and Nursing Educators and Clinical Support Midwives.

Selection criteria- to be considered for this role applicants:

  • Must be eligible to apply via Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV)
  • Must be graduating as a Registered Nurse and Midwife in 2022
  • Must not have completed a previous graduate program
  • Must eligible to work as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife in Australia
  • Must have immunisation clearance prior to commencement (including evidence of COVID 19 vaccination)
  • Must be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife prior to commencement
