Position Summary |
The Western Health Drug Health Services Dual Diagnosis Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) provides a supportive and safe inpatient environment over a 3 month period for people aged 18 years and over requiring a client-centred, recovery oriented dual diagnosis rehabilitation program. The therapeutic and educational program offered will support and promote positive lifestyle choices. Linkages to post rehabilitation community based programs and services are a key component of the DDRC program.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager fulfils the roles and responsibilities of a registered nurse demonstrating expert knowledge and skills while assuming a prominent management focus in the DDRC. The ANUM is an integral member of the DDRC management team, assisting the NUM in the course of their duties to ensure a provision of nursing care that is excellent in quality and consistently client centred while achieving operational management of the clinical environment.

Selection Criteria |
Essential: Successful completion of Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery qualification Essential: registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in Australia Essential: Possess a relevant Post Graduate qualification or be working towards same Essential: Minimum of 5 years in your specialist area Essential: Knowledge of the biological, psychological and social effects of drug and alcohol use and impacts on significant others Essential: Advanced Nursing knowledge in AOD and Mental Health areas Essential: Possess excellent clinical skills Essential: Demonstrated ability to lead a team Essential: Be innovative, resourceful and adaptable to change Essential: Have a commitment to high quality, safe and person-centred care Essential: Experience in providing high standard, clinically competent client-centred services, supporting clients to reduce or cease their alcohol or drug use, stabilise mental health issues and improve health outcomes Essential: Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage a large group of staff, set priorities, monitor workflow and develop 'best practice' work standards in conjunction with program staff Desirable: Hold a relevant management qualification or be working toward the same Desirable: Proven commitment to the development of an environment that supports learning and teaching Desirable: Demonstrated capacity to collaborate with staff and service users to assist in the development of appropriate service delivery models |
