Join our friendly and growing team in the Catheterisation Laboratory and contribute to the decisions that shape our growing health service which will move to state of the art facilities with the opening of the new Footscray Hospital.
Western Cardiac Cath labs are some of the busiest in Melbourne offering acute and elective coronary intervention and electrophysiology services. We also provide a 24 hour on call service for acute myocardial infarct patients.
We have a passion for research and strive for use of current therapies to provide best care and pioneered a 24/7 cardiogenic shock programme in 2019 making us the first in Victoria to use the Impella cardiac pump device for this purpose. The department is supported by both Coronary and Intensive care units and a Cardiac diagnostic unit Footscray CCU is recruiting Registered Nurses (RN) with postgraduate qualifications and experience in Cardiac Nursing who demonstrate outstanding clinical and communication skills and a strong drive for teamwork and continuous professional development throughout their career.
To be Successful in this Role you
- Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing qualification with RN Registration through NMBA
- Successful completion of Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac or Critical Care Nursing
- Current acute cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Competent in Advanced Life Support (ALS) to facilitate care and transport of monitored patients
- Demonstrate excellent clinical and organisation skills
- Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly developed communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to nurture junior staff and contribute to ward portfolios
- Currently working in a cardiac care or critical care area, or experienced in the field and wound expertise is desirable
