Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and professional individual with communication and management skills to lead a cohort of Emergency Department Clerks.  

The ED Clerical Coordinator will be responsible for providing management, coordination, support and guidance to the ED clerks. They will also be responsible for governing performance and KPIs.  

The successful applicant will work closely with another ED Clerical Coordinator, Clerical Allocators, Ward Clerk Coordinators, Clerical Manager, and Clerical Operations Manager.

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following attributes and skills:

  • Enjoy working as part of team in a fast-paced environment that needs to respond quickly and efficiently to demand
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise duties, work under pressure and ability to adapt and be flexible to change
  • Have strong, clear and effective communication skills
  • Have the ability to manage a cohort of clerks that operates 24/7 across multiple campuses
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the clerical leadership team and with your counterpart – the ED Clerical Coordinator
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday during the day, but willing to be flexible when needed to support a 24/7 service
  • Knowledge of the health care industry, in particular workflows in Emergency Departments, reporting requirements and enterprise agreements
