We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 1 Sleep Scientist to join our Sleep Disorders Unit team.  The Sleep Disorders Unit at Footscray Hospital is NATA/ASA Accredited, and performs a variety of in-laboratory and home based polysomnography and treatment studies.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 50 hours per fortnight (5 x 10 hour shifts). The roster will involve day, evening, and overnight shifts.

Duties:

• Patient preparation prior to overnight sleep studies
• Nasal continuous positive airway pressure implementation and titration
• Overnight study monitoring, quality assurance/improvement activities
• Sleep study analysis

Essential Criteria:

• The successful applicant will have a Science degree with relevant majors
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrate initiative and confidence when working in a clinical setting

Desirable Criteria:

• Recent experience in a Sleep Disorders Unit or related clinical area such as Respiratory Function or Neurophysiology testing will be advantageous.
•  Recent Science/Psychophysiology graduates demonstrating a genuine interest in this clinical field may be considered.
