Position Summary |
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 1 Sleep Scientist to join our Sleep Disorders Unit team. The Sleep Disorders Unit at Footscray Hospital is NATA/ASA Accredited, and performs a variety of in-laboratory and home based polysomnography and treatment studies.
This is a permanent part-time position, working 50 hours per fortnight (5 x 10 hour shifts). The roster will involve day, evening, and overnight shifts.
Duties:
- Patient preparation prior to overnight sleep studies
- Nasal continuous positive airway pressure implementation and titration
- Overnight study monitoring, quality assurance/improvement activities
- Sleep study analysis
Essential Criteria:
- The successful applicant will have a Science degree with relevant majors
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrate initiative and confidence when working in a clinical setting
Desirable Criteria:
- Recent experience in a Sleep Disorders Unit or related clinical area such as Respiratory Function or Neurophysiology testing will be advantageous.
- Recent Science/Psychophysiology graduates demonstrating a genuine interest in this clinical field may be considered.

Essential: Bachelor of Applied Science, Biomedical Science, Psychophysiology, or similar discipline? Desirable: Do you have experience in staging, scoring, and reporting sleep studies? Desirable: Are you currently, or have you previously, worked as a Sleep Scientist? |
