Drug Health Services – Residential Unit
Registered Nurse
Permanent Part Time/Permanent Full Time
An exciting opportunity exists at Western Health Drug Health Services for a Registered Nurse to step into the Residential Units to support clients who experience AOD issues and mental health issues. Although this position will be based at Westside Lodge DDRC, the successful RN will at times facilitate support at the Withdrawal Units in Footscray.
The RN is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing both 1:1 and group interventions and support and will engage clients in goal setting, admission to the unit, discharge planning and therapeutic interventions to support recovery.
The client group of the DHS Residential Units are characterised by multiple and complex co-morbidities, requiring a highly skilled and sensitive approach to engagement and case management. This work is undertaken with a commitment to Western Health's Best Care framework and will be based on a thorough understanding of harm reduction principles.

- Supports the delivery of high quality and evidence-based interventions in line with Western Health's Values and Best Care framework
- Provides clinical support, advice and education to clients from admission through to discharge
- Ensures effective working relationships with the multidisciplinary team
About You
As an experienced Registered Nurse in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in working with those who have AOD, mental health and medical complexity
- A passion for providing safe and modern care to individuals with substance use disorders and mental health issues
- High levels of organisation, collaboration, adaptability and communication
