Position Summary |
Westside Lodge Dual diagnosis Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC) provides a supportive and safe in-patient environment over a 3 month period for people aged 18 years and over requiring a client centred, recovery oriented Dual Diagnosis Residential Rehabilition Program. The therapeutic and educational program offered will support and promote positive lifestyle choices. Linkages to post rehabilitation community based programs and services are also a key component of the DDRC program. The DDRC Dual Diagnosis clinican is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing both 1:1 and group interventions and support.
The DDC works collaboratively with the NUM, ANUM, Program/Quality Coordinator and Medical and Allied Health staff and operates across all hours of the service operation ie. 24/7 rotating roster.

Selection Criteria |
Essential: Qualifications in a relevant discipline Essential: Minimum qualifications to Cert IV level in drug and alcohol, or willingness to work towards the same or equivalent Essential: Minimum qualifications to Cert IV level in mental health or willingness to work towards the same/equivalent Essential: Demonstrated experience working with clients with AOD misuse, mental health issues and complex comorbidities Essential: Current Working with Children Check Essential: Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills Essential: Demonstrated capacity to manage and problem solve in crisis situations Essential: Basic computer literacy skills Desirable: Experience in the provision of services to individuals and/or significant others and groups affected by substance use and associated comorbidities Desirable: Knowledge of the biological and social effects of drug use and its impact on family/significant others and community Desirable: Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practises of harm minimisation in the drug and alcohol field Desirable: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proven capacity to negotiate with clients, staff and other stakeholders Desirable: A current driver's licence |
