Position Summary

Western Health has an opportunity for an experienced Continence CNC to clinically lead the Western Continence Service. This role is a permanent part-time position, 7 days per fortnight (0.74 eft), Gr5 Clinical Nurse Consultant C.

The Western Continence Service is a multidisciplinary service that provides comprehensive assessment and investigations inclusive of urodynamic studies, bladder ultrasound, development and evaluation of ongoing management plans for bowel and bladder dysfunction in adults.

The Clinical Nurse consult will work in partnership with key internal stakeholders to engage with Services and the team in the delivery of quality continence care and to advance evidence based approaches to care, with specific intention to improve practices and service delivery.

Management of a clinical case load is an expectation of this role.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Expert clinical skills in the field of adult continence.
  • 3 years minimum experience in a relevant Grade 4 CNC role.
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Continence Nursing required.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with an adaptable, flexible and team based approach.
  • Demonstrated attitude to the delivery of patient care with the aim of reducing barriers and silos of care across services. 
  • The ability to identify gaps in service delivery and innovative improvement opportunities and the capability to implement processes, systems and solutions collaboratively.
  • Experience in leading quality improvement.
  • Well-developed organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as an integral part of a interprofessional team
